Dogs Attack Grey County Man While Snowshoeing

Grey County OPP are investigating after three aggressive dogs attacked a man who was snowshoeing on his property.

It happened Tuesday at about 3:30pm in the afternoon on Concession 3A in the Township of Chatsworth.

The man was just returning to his vehicle when he was attacked by the dogs running at large, and his snowshoes hindered his ability to escape quickly into the car.  He suffered a dog bite to his leg.

As he drove away, the dogs continued to jump on the vehicle causing damage to it.

Once a safe distance away, the 71-year-old man stopped his vehicle on Grey Rd. 40 where he was assisted by a passing motorist who contacted police.  The victim was treated at the scene by Grey County paramedics.

The owner of the dogs was identified and the investigation continues.

The Township of Chatsworth Animal Control By-Law Officer and the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit were notified of the incident.
