Patriots On the Verge of Sweeping the Ironmen

Klayton Hoelscher struck twice including the OT winner to give the Mount Forest Patriots a 4-3 victory over the Ironmen and a 3-0 lead in their Pollock Division semifinal series.

The Patriots jumped out to a two goal lead in the first period thanks to goals by Ryley Cribbin and Hoelscher. The lead was short lived when the Ironmen answered with two power play goals - courtesy of Kyle Stanbury and Andrew Heibein - before the period was over.

Blake Buchanan put the Ironmen ahead at 4:04 of the second period. They held that lead until late in the third when Dylan Brown tied it to force extra time.

David Lobsinger earned the win in net for the Patriots with 32 saves. Jamie Brock stopped 38 for the Ironmen.

The Patriots could sweep the Ironmen if they can beat them on the road Friday night. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex.
