Freezing Rain Warning For Grey County

Forecasters are tracking possible freezing rain for this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for all of Grey County, including Owen Sound, Dundalk, Hanover and Blue Mountains. The warning also covers Mount Forest and Arthur in Wellington County.

The weather agency says a fast-moving low pressure system will cross the Great Lakes later Saturday night. It will spread another round of precipitation across the region overnight and Sunday morning.

The precipitation will likely begin as some freezing rain overnight, and may persist for a few hours before changing to rain Sunday morning. Although ice accumulations should be relatively light, cold untreated surfaces will likely become glazed and slippery in the overnight hours and Sunday morning before temperatures rise above freezing.

Driving or walking in some areas may be tricky.
