Car In Flames, Driver Charged

An Arran-Elderslie man doesn't have a car after it burst into flames after hitting a tree.

The crash happened after midnight early Sunday morning at the intersection of Hwy. 21 and the B Line.

Police say the 2013 Volkswagen left the road and hit a tree.

The lone driver was able to get out in time but had to be taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The 23-year was charged with disobeying a stop sign, failing to stop.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
