High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

<p>The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance has announced an influenza outbreak at Stratford General Hospital is now over.
 
The outbreak status was lifted in consultation with the Perth District Health Unit. The unit is now open to admissions.
 
Visitor restrictions have been lifted but visitors and families are reminded that if they aren’t feeling well,
they should postpone their visit in any area of the hospital
 
The outbreak was declared on February 13th after a number of patients at the Hospital tested positive for influenza.</p>
