One Man Injured In Bar Fight In Owen Sound

An Owen Sound man suffered serious injuries to his head and ear in a bar fight early Sunday morning.

Owen Sound police responded to a licenced establishment in the downtown core just before 2am on Sunday.

An altercation between two men who were celebrating their birthdays turned violent when one man smashed a beer bottle over the head of the other. The 29-year-old victim suffered major injuries to his left ear and head.

Bar patrons were able to tending to his injuries until EMS arrived. The Owen Sound man was transported to hospital, treated for his injuries and later released.

A 32-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested at the scene and held in custody. He's to appear in court Monday to face charges of assault with a weapon and aggravated assault.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
