St. Annes Eagles in OFSAA Championship

The St. Anne's Catholic Secondary School girl's hockey team is heading to Timmins to play in OFSAA.

The Clinton-based team is the second seed at the tournament after going 7-1 in the regular season and 22-4 overall.

Eagles Coach Steve Geiger says in an email the team won the Wes for Youth Tournament in Walkerton and the Lady Crusader Cup in London.

He says they were also the Huron Perth Athletics Association League Champions, finishing first in the regular season before shutting out South Huron 5-0 in the playoffs and going on to beat St. Michael Catholic Secondary School 6-1.

The Eagles advanced to OFSAA with a 4-2 win over Ingersoll and a 5-2 victory over St. Thomas Aquinas at the WOSSAA Championship in London.

The St. Anne's first game of the OFSAA Girls Hockey A/AA Championship is at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
