Northern Areas Of Bruce And Grey Buried In Snow

While southern areas of midwestern Ontario deal with sleet and freezing rain, up to 28 cm of snow has been reported in Wiarton.

Environment Canada says heavy snow will continue today into tonight with freezing rain possible for Sunday.

Forecasters say the storm is being pushed by a moisture laden low pressure area over the Central Plains States.

Even though there has been a significant snowfall so far, total amounts could reach 40 cm by this evening.

On Sunday morning, a second round of precipitation will arrive in the form of freezing rain. The freezing rain will change to over to rain Sunday evening.

Officials say dangerous winter driving conditions are likely with zero visibility at times and are urging to postpone any non-essential travel.
