Mildmay Housing Unit Damaged By Fire

One of the units in the Bruce County Housing Building in Mildmay was badly damaged by fire Wednesday.

All the residents of the Adam Street building were evacuated and accounted for. Bruce County EMS and OPP were on scene to assist South Bruce Fire Rescue.

The cause of the fire in the unit remains under investigation and the unit is not usable.

This is the second time in less than four months that the residents have been forced out and taken to shelter elsewhere. The January incident was because of a possible toxic odour after a water leak in the basement of the building mixed with chemicals.
