Fire In Harriston Sends Resident To Hospital

A fire in Harriston sent a resident to hospital with minor injuries.

Last night at 10:50 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP responded to a fire at 38 Elizabeth Street in Harriston. Minto Fire Department along with Guelph Paramedic Services also responded.

A fire started within one unit of the 13-unit building and is not considered suspicious. A lone resident was pulled from the unit by a bystander, and the resident was taken to local hospital with minor injuries. Damage to the building is extensive, and all residents have been relocated, and Wellington County Housing and the Town of Minto are making arrangements for alternate housing for these residents.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
