Jury Selection Begins For Murder Trial In Goderich

Jury selection is underway in Goderich in the first-degree murder trial of 73-year-old Boris Panovski.

Panovski is charged with the fatal shooting of Don Frigo of Scarborough and the wounding of his wife Eva in September 2014.

The shooting took place at the Hullett Conservation Area, near Clinton. Frigo and his wife were with a group of friends involved in training hunting dogs when the shooting occurred.

The trial is expected to last up to six weeks.

Part of the delay in bringing the case to trial was Panovski's original insistence that he defend himself.

He eventually agreed to hire a lawyer but dismissed several before hiring Christopher Hicks from Toronto.
