Osprey Central School Receives Premier's Award

Osprey Central School in Maxwell has been selected as one of only ten schools in Ontario to receive a 2017-2018 Premier’s Award for Accepting Schools.

The award is given to schools for innovative efforts in creating a safe, accepting, and inclusive learning and working environment.

Bluewater District School Board Director of Education Alana Murray, along with the superintendent of education and the local trustee, joined the Osprey school community for a special assembly at the school on Wednesday to celebrate the accomplishment.

Teacher Brad Clarke says Osprey has focused on the importance of including the students' voice, and used that feedback to implement improvements and changes in the school community.

Osprey student Mackenzie Smith commented on the tremendous work that the school community has done in support of anti-bullying initiatives.
