Metz United Church Planting The Seed For Pumpkin Growing Contest

Wellington North councillors went home with a pumpkin plant under their arms Tuesday night.

Bonnie McDougall of the Metz United Church pumpkin growing contest brought the potted plants to council to encourage participation in the contest which has been going on for 20 years.

It now includes a pumpkin catapult. McDougall said the event uses the catapult to launch pumpkins into neighbouring Centre Wellington.

The hamlet of Metz is located at the south end of Wellington North.
