Crash In Mitchell Causes Serious Injuries

Three people were rushed to hospital Tuesday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision in Mitchell.

At 1:50pm, the Perth County OPP responded to the crash at the corner of Montreal St. and St. David's St.

Police say a sedan was travelling east on Montreal St. when it collided with a large van travelling south on St. David's St.    The sedan came to rest near a house.

The 81-year-old woman who was driving the sedan was taken to a local hospital and later airlifted to a London hospital with life threatening injuries.

There were four occupants in the van;  two were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No names have been released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
