Panovski Trial Continues In Goderich

Boris Panovski's former girlfriend was on the stand at his first-degree murder trial in Goderich on Wednesday.

Under cross-examination by the defence, she testified that in the week leading up to September 13 of 2014 he had told her he was going back to Macedonia to visit his sister, who had broken her arm and he would be back in four to six months. She also testified that during the week of September 6 to September 13 Panovski never mentioned Don Frigo or his wife Eva.

Panovski is charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Don Frigo and attempted murder in the wounding of his wife, Eva, at the Hullet Conservation Area near Clinton on September 13 of 2014.

The trial is in its second week and is expected to last eight to ten weeks.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
