Elmira's Garrett Rank was one of just three players to qualify for the US Open at the Ansley Golf Club sectional qualifier in Roswell Georgia. The amateur golfer finished with a two-under 142 finishing tied for first place with American Michael Herbert.
Listowel's Corey Conners just missed the cut at the sectional qualifier at the Springfield Country Club in Columbus Ohio.
He finished at 2-under 138, tied with the fourth and fifth finishers who did qualify. Conners is now a first alternate should one of the other qualifiers be unable to attend the Open.
