Hawks and Ironmen Announce More Signings

Local PJHL Teams continue to work at filling out their rosters for the upcoming season.

The Wingham Ironmen announced they've signed forward Matt Tolton from Guelph. Tolton played for the AAA Guelph Gryphons last season and also played in five games for the GOJHL's Guelph Hurricanes. Tolton earned four points in those games, scoring twice and earning two assists.

The Walkerton Hawks announced the signing of Jeremy Davidson, Owen Torrie and Jack Morris.

Davidson spent last season with the Grey-Bruce Highlanders Midget AA team. The Allenford native played four games for the Hawks, scoring twice and having two assists.

Torrie, who hails from Williamsford, also already has some PJHL experience, playing one game with the Hanover Barons. He also played for the Grey-Bruce Highlanders Midget AAA team last season.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
