West Perth Youth Learn Safety On Wheels

Some youth in West Perth can now safely ride their wheels, thanks to a special day at West Perth Fire Department on Sunday.

Children and families had a chance to take part in festivities like an all wheels rodeo course, food, prize table, and viewing of emergency vehicles.

Complimentary helmet fittings, bicycle inspections, and helmet distribution also took place. Event organizers are reminding parents to regularly inspect their children's helmets to ensure proper fit and condition. Cracked helmets should not be worn.

Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County OPP Auxiliary Unit, Mitchell Optimist Club, West Perth Fire Department and Brain and Mind Matters (BAMM) were on hand to host the first annual, All Wheels Rodeo at the West Perth Fire Department

There is no cost to attend the All Wheels Rodeo, which takes place annually in June.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
