West Perth Hosting Open House For Administration Campus

An open house next week in West Perth will provide the public with some information regarding the Administration Campus in Mitchell.

CAO Jeff Brick says the current campus on St. David St., which features a fire hall, municipal office and tennis court, has a number of challenges.

"Our fire hall, we're looking to redevelop it, just to be of the size to manage the modern firefighting equipment we have. For example, the tanker we currently have on order is not actually going to fit in the fire hall."

Brick says the current fire hall likely needs to be replaced, and the current municipal office, which was once an old high school, has a number of challenges as well.

"We're struggling with energy usage, accessibility and the layout of that building. The layout for a municipal building isn't the best," he says.

A feasibility study started back in January on potential solutions for the campus which is located in Mitchell on St. David St.

The open house will be at the municipal office from 6:30pm until 8pm on Tuesday, June 19.
