Two Charged In Road Rage Incident In Owen Sound

Two Owen Sound men have lost their driver's licences and vehicles, and are facing charges following a road-rage incident Sunday night.

The Owen Sound Police Service received a call shortly after 10pm regarding two vehicles driving erratically, east on the Sunset Strip. The caller reported the vehicles running red lights and being involved in a minor collision with one another while inside city limits.

Police were able to catch up with the vehicles near Concession Rd. 10 and Story Book Park Rd., southeast of the city.

One driver, a 55-year-old Owen Sound man, failed a roadside screening device test and was placed under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol.

Witnesses provided statements and video evidence which supported additional charges of impaired driving and stunt driving.

The man's licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

The second driver, a 19-year-old Owen Sound area man, has also been charged with stunt driving. He lost his licence for seven days and his vehicle was impounded for a week.
