Enrolment Soars At Bruce-Grey Catholic Schools

The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board is in good shape heading into the 2018-2019 school year in the fall.

Figures released as part of the Board's proposed budget show elementary enrolment at 2,941 students -- an increase of 4.1% over the previous year. Secondary school enrolment was 1,606, which was up 4.6% over 2017-2018.

The budget document shows its total enrolment exceeds its on-the-ground capacity by over 200 spaces.

The board had total revenues of $75,839,900, which was an increase of 16.5% over the previous year.

The most significant capital expenditures were the eight-classroom and four-room childcare addition at St. Anthony’s School in Kincardine.

Eight new portables were installed at the board's schools in Owen Sound because of the increased enrolment, and two-room childcare addition was completed at St. Teresa of Calcutta School in Walkerton.
