Panovski Takes Stand At His Murder Trial In Goderich

Boris Panovski was on the stand today testifying in his own defense at a murder trial in Goderich.

Panovski is accused of the murder of a fellow hunting dog enthusiast, Don Frigo of Scarborough, and the attempted murder of his wife, Eva, at the Hullet Conservation area.

CKNX Reporter Bob Montgomery says Panovski described the events leading up to December 13th of 2014, and his trip to Macedonia. That's where his son called to tell him he was being investigated for a shooting.

"The son was kind of accusing him of doing it. And he [Panovski] was just saying no. "I didn't shoot anybody. I don't know anything about it.' He said, 'I'm coming home tomorrow to clear this up'," explains Montgomery.

Panovski's been testifying in English since about 1 pm despite needing a Macedonian translator throughout the trial.

Still ahead, a cross-examination from the crown, and then closing remarks.
