Mental Heath Fundraiser Hosting Dance In Listowel

A local mental health fundraiser is hosting a dance in Listowel.

The Helping Hands fundraiser was started by Lauren Coates two years ago with the goal of helping those affected by mental health struggles, disabilities and traumatic brain injuries. Coates herself suffered a brain injury in a car accident a few years ago, and wanted to help out in some way.

The upcoming dance is on Saturday, July 14th at the Trinity United Church in Listowel. Doors at 6:30 with the dance running until 11:30. Tickets are $7 in advance or $10 at the door. To get tickets you can contact Lauren at 519-492-0568.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
