$45K Given To Business Startups In Bruce County

Nine businesses in Bruce County are receiving provincial grants.

The Starter Company Plus program helps business owners and entrepreneurs who are thinking of starting, expanding, or moving their business to the area.

Each $5,000 grant must be used for the purchase of goods or services identified in their business plans.

Warden Paul Eagleson says this demonstrates the strong entrepreneurial spirit and willingness for business owners to explore new opportunities in Bruce County.

The nine grant recipients recognized by Warden Eagleson at the Planning and Development Committee on June 21st were:

Kara Van Myall, Director of Planning and Development explains, "The participants were required to complete a training series that would help them gain more knowledge in areas such as Business Planning and Introduction to Financials. In addition to attending the training, the businesses had to create a business plan, outlining their future plans that was presented in a ‘pitch it’ style event to the review committee."

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
