Bruce Power Holding Summer Innovation Camp

Bruce Power will hold a Summer Innovation Camp in July that will challenge local high school students to develop science, technology, engineering and mathematical skills essential to future success.

The program is offered to Grade 9 to 12 high school students weekdays from July 9th to 20th at the Bruce Power Visitors' Centre in Tiverton.

The fee for attending is $300 per student.

There is still space available, and anyone interested in asked to contact the Bruce Power Visitors' Centre.

Of note:

-Bruce Power Sector Manager of Community & Indigenous Relations Chris Mercanti says the camp will focus on science and radtiation monitoring, and will include attendees attaching dose monitoring equipment to a weather balloon.

-Mercanti notes Bruce Power continues to seek more educational opportunities that will increase foot traffic at the offsite visitor's centre

-The program was developed by the McMaster University Interdisciplinary Satellite Team, and a Bruce Power staff member that spent time working for NASA.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
