Wingham Business Hit By Distraction Thieves

Wingham police are reminding local businesses to be vigilant with distraction thefts.

Shortly before noon Monday, two men in their late 60s entered a business in Wingham and were able to get the employee to give them some assistance.

As this was being done, one of the men entered a back room and stole a large amount of cash.

The incident was captured on camera and Wingham police are following up on various leads.

According to Police Chief Tim Poole, these types of thieves prey on the kindness of people who think they are helping someone, only to find themselves becoming victims.
