Midwestern Ontario Under A Heat Warning

The long weekend will be a hot one across Midwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the following regions:

  • Goderich - Bluewater - Southern Huron County
  • Wingham - Blyth - Northern Huron County
  • Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
  • Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County
  • Hanover - Dundalk - Southern Grey County
  • Owen Sound - Blue Mountains - Northern Grey County
  • Saugeen Shores - Kincardine - Southern Bruce County
Forecasters say a hot air mass will pass over southern Ontario Sunday into the Civic Holiday on Monday.

Daytime maximum values of 31 C or higher are expected on both Sunday and Monday with humidex values near 40 C. Overnight minimum temperatures will only fall to near 20 C, providing little relief from the heat.

A cold front is expected to move through the area Tuesday bringing an end to this two-day heat event.
