Goderich High School Hosts Celtic Roots Festival College

The Celtic Roots Festival College is underway this week at the Goderich High School.

General Manager Cheryl Prashker says the College draws instructors from all over Canada and the world.

"We have amazing fiddle players coming from all over the world, we've got Kevin Bard from Ireland and I know that he's a long time favourite here, the Fitzgeralds from the Ottawa Valley area, so Tom Fitzgerald will be teaching some fiddle, we've got vocal harmony, we've got flute, whistles," she says.

Prashker says another highlight is their craft art classes.

"We have a silver-smithing class, we have a stained glass class and embroidery, Celtic design, things like that and there's also the sound class," she says. "A lot of people don't realize we teach sound, as well and our sound students end up doing the sound for some of our concerts during the week."

The Celtic Roots Festival opens Friday in Goderich.
