United Way Working On Social Planning Data Base

The United Way Perth-Huron's Social Research & Planning Council and 211 are working on a social planning inventory they hope will improve social planning across the region.

Director of Community Information Susan Faber explains they wanted to put a list together so that people would be aware of the different groups and to help avoid duplication.

She says a lot of people want to help in different areas and this is one way they can determine if the group already exists. If it does, they can save a lot of effort by helping the existing group.

They put a call out to different organizations to fill out a survey if they were already part of a planning group. Faber says was a big response and we've added all of these different groups to the 211 database to make them readily accessible.

More information is available on the United Way Perth-Huron website in the Social Planning and Research area.
