High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

You can expect partly cloudy in the morning, with rain in the afternoon

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in the Township of Perth South.
The Ontario Provincial Police say on Friday shortly before 5pm, a motorcycle collided with an SUV at the intersection of Perth Rd. 119 and Perth Line 26.
The motorcycle rider suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and is being treated in hospital.  The driver of the SUV was not hurt.
The intersection is expected to remain closed until around 9:30pm while officers conduct an investigation.
