Theft and Vandalism At St. Marys Property

Perth County OPP continue an investigation into a break-in, theft, and vandalism at a property in St. Marys.

Early Wednesday morning, suspects entered two pieces of heavy railroad machinery which had been parked on the rail tracks on James Street South. Employees reported a significant amount of damage and theft when they discovered the incident.

A locked building was forcibly entered and damaged.   Hand tools, mixed tools and other items from the work site were removed.   The total estimated value of the stolen equipment is about $17,000.

Perth County OPP are asking for the assistance of the public with identifying the individuals responsible.
