The weather agency had issued the watch earlier Saturday as a line of strong storms moved through the region from Michigan.
The watch covered all of Grey County. This includes Owen Sound, Hanover and Dundalk.
It was allowed to expire shortly before 10pm Saturday.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
The annual Canada Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, from Wildwood Park to Kenwick Park.
The $7.6 million project, which also involved water and sewer infrastructure improvements, began in 2024.
