Ontario Provincial Police say a 46-year-old man has died in an apparent drowning.

OPP Constable Joshua Cunningham says it happened around 5pm Saturday at the Emerald Lake Campground in Puslinch. Officers from Wellington County, along with paramedics and the Puslinch Fire Department, arrived at the location on a report that a man had been swimming, gone under the surface of the water, and failed to reappear.

The man was pulled from the water and rushed to a local hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigators believe alcohol may have been a factor.

The victim has been identified as Noel Michael Badillo of Mississauga.
