Howick firefighters conduct Alarmed for Life visits

The Howick Township Fire Department has launched its annual Alarmed for Life program.

Starting Tuesday, uniformed firefighters with smoke alarm training will go door to door in Wroxeter.

The home visits will give residents a chance to have their smoke alarms tested, inspected and replaced. Firefighters will also ensure homes are compliant with the smoke alarm laws in the Ontario Fire Code. The will also provide fire safety information and home escape planning.

The sessions will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evenings throughout September and October.
