Morris-Turnberry man dies after being kicked by horse

A Morris-Turnberry man has died after being fatally injured by a horse.

On Saturday at around 5:13 p.m., Huron County OPP, along with the Huron County Paramedic Services and North Huron Fire Department responded to a private property on Beecroft Line, west of Belgrave, after a man was kicked by a horse.

A police investigation revealed the man's horse spooked and began to run free.   The victim attempted to control the horse by grabbing onto the harness and when he did so, he was kicked in the abdomen by the horse.

He was transported to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The man has been identified as 60-year-old James Robert McGee of Morris-Turnberry.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
