Perth County plans retirement sendoff for paramedic chief

Perth County is losing a leader in paramedic services.

After 19 years as the county's director of emergency services and chief of paramedic services, Linda Rockwood is retiring next month.

She is well-known across Perth County, and was recognized provincially by her staff and peers in 2015 when she was awarded the Richard J. Armstrong Leadership Award by the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs.

Linda Rockwood is Ontario’s first female paramedic chief to lead a municipal direct-delivery paramedic service.

Perth County will be hosting a retirement celebration in her honour on Thursday, October 11 at the Army Navy Hall in Stratford.
