Dundalk man charged with sexual assault

A Dundalk man is charged with sexual assault after a police investigation in Owen Sound.

Officers attended the Fall Fair at Victoria Park Friday evening after receiving a complaint from a 17-year-old girl that she was touched inappropriately by a stranger.

The girl alleged that a man came into contact with her at the midway and twice embraced her without her permission and against her wishes. The girl also reported that the accused touched her, and offered her money for sexual favours.

With the description provided by the victim and witnesses, police were able to arrest a suspect in the midway area of the fairgrounds.

A 65-year-old man was held in custody for an audio remand hearing. He was later released on an undertaking. He's scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court on September 27 to answer to the charges.
