Stolen Property Recovered From Stolen Car At Saugeen Shores Motel

A Bruce County man remains in custody after an altercation with a Saugeen Shores police officer Saturday afternoon.

An officer on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle at a local motel with a man sitting inside.  A check of the vehicle revealed that it was reported stolen in Grey County.

The officer attempted to place the man under arrest, but a struggle developed. The suspect was eventually arrested. Both the officer and the suspect suffered minor injuries.

An investigation of the contents of the vehicle revealed several stolen items from across Ontario and Eastern Canada.

A 37-year-old Bruce County man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime, resisting arrest, breach of probation, and possession of methamphetamine.

He is being held for a bail hearing, and police say further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
