Complaints about Walkerton's soccer park

Brockton council has learned that there are several problems at the Bruce Power Regional Soccer Park in Walkerton.

Concerns have been raised that there are protruding sprinkler heads, field ruts, and a dropoff on Pitch 3 that makes it almost impossible to take an effective corner kick.

Councillor Chris Peabody says council was told by an engineer that the settling issue was a "natural process", but he disagreed, and said Brockton "hired an engineering firm to oversee this project, and I expected that having been built to those standards, that we would not have had that settling problem."

Brockton does not have an estimate on repair costs, but this matter may be pushed to 2019 when a new council will be sitting.

The Bruce Power Regional Soccer Park opened in May 2017.
