Beach cleanup in Goderich scheduled for Saturday

The Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation is conducting the fall beach clean up this Saturday in Goderich.

Coastal Technologist Tineasha Brenot says anyone who is able to help can meet at the pavilion across from the Beech Street Station Restaurant between ten and noon on Saturday.

Brenot says most of the garbage in the fall consists of food and food packaging related to the tourist season, and some of that is blown onto the Goderich beaches from other areas.

In the spring clean up, they find items that have been washed ashore over the winter and in the past that has included things like deep fryers and de-humidifiers.

More information about Saturday's beach clean up can be found on the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation Facebook page.
