West Palmerston secondary plan open house

An information meeting this week in Palmerston is designed to look toward the future.

The Town of Minto wants feedback on future growth options as part of Wellington County’s five-year official plan review.  Planners have estimated that Palmerston could grow by another 625 households or more than 1,700 people in the next 25 years.

The first draft of the West Palmerston Secondary Plan looks at how and where residential, industrial, parks and commercial growth may occur, including future options that might lead to changes to Palmerston’s urban boundary.

Town staff will host the open house in the Palmerston Community Centre on Tuesday September 18, starting at 5 pm.

The open house will allow interested residents an opportunity to see planning maps for the secondary plan area, pick up a copy of the planning document, and speak to staff about the plan.
