Boil Water Advisory For Part Of Owen Sound

The City of Owen Sound has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for a portion of the city water system in a small area in the south end near Greenwood Cemetery.

This boil water advisory is being issued because of adverse bacteriological test results in the distribution system.

The affected area is the water-serviced area south of Greenwood Cemetery including County Road 5 (2nd Avenue East), Inglis Falls Road, Forest Heights subdivision, Harrison Park, and a portion of the vicinity of Greenwood Cemetery itself.

Residents should bring water to a rolling boil for two minutes for drinking, preparing food, beverages, ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables or brushing teeth.

Adequate chlorine residual has been confirmed in the distribution system. Samples to confirm bacteriological water quality have been taken and sample results should be received by Friday, September 21. The city will advise affected residents when this advisory is lifted.
