Sexual assault suspect sought in Walkerton

Ontario Provincial Police are asking the public for help in its investigation of a sexual assault in Walkerton.

Police say they received a call shortly after 8 p.m. Friday about an attack, which took place on the trail system near the Saugeen River.

The public is being asked to help identify the suspect, who is being described as a man with dark-coloured skin around the age of 40, short with a thick torso, with dark hair and dark brown eyes. He was wearing a white t-shirt and baseball cap. Investigators believe he speaks either Spanish or Portuguese.

Anyone who was in the area on Friday night who has information, or can identify the suspect, is urged to call the South Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Tips can also be phoned in anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submitted online.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
