Nunavut exchange students tour Grey Bruce

Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton has welcomed 20 exchange students from Ataguttaaluk High school in Igloolik Nunavut.

The students are being hosted by local families during a busy week exploring Bruce-Grey and southwestern Ontario.

Activities include a school presentation, farm tours, a tour of Georgian College, hiking on the Bruce Trail, and excursions to Niagara Falls and Toronto.

The 23 Sacred Heart students will then visit their new friends in Nunavut from October 30 to November 8.

They'll try dog sledding, ice fishing, and throat singing. They hope to see the Northern Lights and experiencing traditional foods.

This cultural exchange has been arranged through Experiences Canada.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
