Election signs removed in Perth South

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Perth County detachment are currently investigating the theft of municipal election campaign signs in the Township of Perth South.

The theft occurred in the area of Whalen Line and Perth Road 151 late last week.

Several campaign signs removed by an unknown suspect have since been replaced.

The destruction or removal of election signs is a criminal offence which can result in criminal charges. Residents are asked to remain respectful of the democratic process and report any damage to campaign signs to police.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
