Wellington North approves cannabis business

A cannabis-growing operation got the green light from Wellington North council Monday.

One of the proponents, John Livingston of LIV360 of Georgetown, told council the operation is applying to be licensed for medical marijuana until recreational marijuana is approved.

He said the operation will be located in an existing building adjacent to the North Wellington Landfill Site at Riverstown, located between Mount Forest and Arthur.

Livingston predicted 25 jobs from the operation.
