Voting practice in Varna

Voters in the Municipality of Bluewater will have a chance to practice voting Wednesday night.

There is an election drop-in session at the Stanley Community Centre in Varna between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Chandra Alexander, the municipality's clerk, said there have already been people calling the office with questions about the procedure.

"It's new for everybody," said Alexander. "What we're doing is just explaining the process and we have lots of people leaving satisfied that it's something that is going to be great for Bluewater."

There will also be an opportunity for Bluewater residents to cast a vote by either telephone or internet using a demo voting system.

"My elections team will be there and we can answer questions like if you are wondering if you are on the voter's list, we can answer questions about telephone and internet voting," said Alexander.

Voting for the upcoming municipal elections can start as early as October 11 at 9 a.m. with results released the night of October 22.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
