Central Huron hoping for movement soon on Bluewater Centre property

Huron County's Director of Economic Development said there is no time frame for the potential sale of the former Bluewater Youth Centre property, south of Goderich.

Cody Joudry said at some point, the property will be sold, and Central Huron and the county's economic development team want to make sure the community gets the greatest benefit possible from that sale.

"What really matters to us is that we attract the type of investment to that property that will complement our existing business sector," said Joudry.

200 jobs were lost when the Bluewater Centre closed several years ago.

Joudry adds there is still a lot of work to be done by the province and the municipality. Central Huron has the first option to purchase the property at retail price.
