Local mayoral candidate charged with assault

A mayoral candidate in the Municipality of Kincardine has been charged with assault.

Ronald Stephens, 64, has been charged with assault and resisting a peace officer after an incident on September 18 at a residence on Kingsway Street in Kincardine.

The Ontario Provincial Police said there was an altercation between Stephens, who is a landlord, and one of his tenants.

South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information concerning this incident to contact them.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
