Speedy youth earns court appearance

A young North Huron driver has been charged with street racing after police clocked a vehicle travelling 65 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.

The vehicle was pulled over at around 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday after it was found to be driving 145 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Base Line in Central Huron.

A 17-year-old class G2 driver is now charged with racing a motor vehicle. He licence has also been suspended and his motor vehicle was towed and impounded. He has a court date in Goderich on November 20.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
